Young Professionals Network holds AGM

These sentiments were expressed by the office bearers of the association at its annual general meeting (AGM) held on Saturday 20th February at the Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby.

“I’m happy to share the calendar for 2021. We are fluid in our delivery, dates can change or additional events may be included as we go. Ultimately, we assure you, we will deliver a fantastic and engaging calendar for our members,” said President of the YPN, Peggy Maha in her report to members as she launched the 2021 YPN Events Calendar. 

22 Leagues call deferral hijacking of AGM

The Presidents claim the Board has hijacked the process to avoid the election of a new chairman and Director of the Southern Confederate.

The PNGRFL AGM scheduled for today was deferred to the 28th of March.

The main agenda of the AGM included was the election of the PNGRFL Chairman and Director of the Southern Confederate.

In a media conference, 22 Presidents from the Southern and Northern confederates aired their disappointment over the call to defer the AGM at the eleventh hour.

PNGRFL AGM this month

Chairman of the PNGRFL, Sandis Tsaka said the agenda will include the 2017 PNGRFL Annual Reports and Audited Financials.

He said a general meeting will be held after the AGM to discuss other rugby league matters.

Tsaka reminded eligible delegates that travel to and from the AGM plus accommodation costs will be met by the PNGRFL and subsistence and other costs are the responsibility of the delegates and their respective leagues.

PNGRFL AGM scheduled for tomorrow

Forty nine affiliated league presidents are expected to converge into Lae, Morobe Province this afternoon for the one day meeting starting at 9am on Saturday at the Lae International Hotel.

The two major highlights in the order of business will be the consideration of accounts and audits report and the election of Chairman and four Confederate Directors. 

Following the AGM and swearing-in of the chairman and four Confederate Directors will be a General Meeting.

49 affiliate leagues to attend PNGRFL AGM in Lae

He added that one nomination each for the Northern, Southern and Highlands Confederates Directors was also received also at the close of nominations on Friday.

Rau said no nominations were received from the New Guinea Islands (NGI) Confederate.

“Nominations received from various affiliated leagues in the three Confederates – Southern, Highlands and Northern – show one nominee for the Chairman’s post and one for the Director’s position.

44 confirmed for PNGRFL AGM

CEO of the PNGRFL, Reatau Rau said the 44 leagues comprising of 13 from Southern, four from New Guinea Islands, 16 from Highlands and 11 from Northern Confederates have met all affiliation criteria for 2016 and complied with the PNGRFL constitutional requirements.

“The forty-four leagues have fulfilled and met all constitutional requirements and their Presidents are qualified and eligible to attend the AGM set for Saturday February 25, 2017 at 10am at the Lae International Hotel in Morobe Province,” said Rau.
