UPNG courts get make over thanks to BSP

Basketball and volleyball enthusiasts at the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) campus will enjoy their sports even more after timely makeover of the courts courtesy of BSP First.

The upgrade of the courts was done through BSP’s 2015 Community Project Initiative aimed to give something back to communities.

The new courts have been coated with splashes of green, new basketball hoops installed and benches installed around the playing area.

UPNG Representative, Professor Mange Matui said that BSP’s contribution to sporting facilities was timely as the Pacific Games were coming and the refurbished facilities will be beneficial to the UPNG Community.

“I want to thank the BSP First team and BSP as a whole for this project. UPNG management and students appreciate your efforts.

“I’m sure it will serve our students, staff and families with sporting activities,” said Matui.

BSP Area Manager for NCD, Stanerd Wai was said that BSP was pleased to be part of communities that the bank operated in.

“BSP is proud of being part of our communities and also we are commitment to these communities,” Mr Wai said.

“All our community projects involve our staff, so from day of inception of the idea to helping out in constructing, cleaning, painting and handing over. Our staffs are an integral part of our community projects,” said Wai.

39 BSP community project initiatives have been planned for 2015 conducted by BSP branches and also head office business units.
