Female officers donate sports bags to team PNG

The PNG U-20 Women’s team received a kind gesture from the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary women who were engaged as Security Team Liaison Officers (STLO) in the U-20 Women Tri-Nations tournament.

The STLOs have been an integral part of the security operations of the U-20 Women’s Tri-Nations tournament. The security operation involved three female officers seconded as security team liaison officers to each of the three teams, Japan, PNG and USA.

RPNGC chief inspector and U-20 Women’s Tri-Nations senior security liaison Sylvia Reu said the female officers donated 26 Puma sports bags to the PNG team last Saturday at the Bisini Oval after the girl’s training.

“The 10 of us put some money together and purchased the bags. We picked the blue-coloured bags because it represented our police colour,” Reu explained.

Reu said the Puma sports bags were given to the girls as a show of support for the PNG U-20 team.

The PNG team captain Yvonne Gabong received the bags on behalf of the team, saying they were very grateful for the kind gesture by the policewomen.
