World Kick Boxing Champs In Egypt

According to Nandex, the last time PNG attended a world Kick boxing championships was in 2002 in Italy, where he accompanied around 22 fighters.

After nearly two decades, PNG as a member nation to the World Kick Boxing Federation, is preparing the Egypt.

PNG kickboxers invited to register under WKF

WKF World secretary general and Oceania president Robert Wilesmith has invited kickboxers in all provinces across PNG and surrounding Oceania countries.

Wilesmith invited kickboxers to get registered and join the WKF to get global exposure by getting their names in the WKF World Rankings.

“By being registered under WKF, all the global Promoters around the world will see who the PNG fighters are as Promoters cannot guess who is in PNG.

“The PNGKBA cannot create a pathway for PNG fighters to fight for World Titles unlike the WKF,” he said.

WKF clarifies on proposed ban by PNGKBA on promotion events

WKF World secretary general and Oceania president Robert Wilesmith said in response to PNGKBA’s attempt to ban PNG promoter and current WKF world champion Rickson Yamo from hosting events.

Yamo will be promoting his WKF Pro World Title defense event on October 30 in Hela Province.

PNGKBA called on Yamo to withdraw from organising events without the official authority and sanctioning from the PNGKBA.

PNGKBA calls on pro-fighter to refrain from organising events

PNGKBA secretary general Eddie Kavina said that Yamo has been continuing in collaboration with Robert Wilsmith of World Kickboxing Federation (WKF) to sanctioned events without the legal authority of the PNGKBA.

Kavina pointed out that the executives had met with Yamo and his team several times not to proceed in organising the events but they have continued to disrespect the authority.

PNGKBA will be seeking legal action to clarify these issues and will proceed with obtaining a restraining court order from involving in any kickboxing matters without the legal authority.

Lee “Flash” Garap set for kickboxing World Title

 This title fight is recognised by the World Kickboxing Federation (WKF) and World Muay Thai Council (WMC).

Garap is currently the WKF World Ranked No.1 Muaythai fighter in Welterweight 66.8kg and WKF World Ranked No. 3 Light Welterweight (64.5kg) weight divisions.

The PNG World No.1 will fight Thailand’s Petchhanong Banchamek on October 31, in Port Moresby to improve his ranking.

Garap has won all his 38 fights as an amateur while professionally he has had 43 wins out of 52 fights including his latest PNG National Muay Thai Light Weight title.
