Women’s Comp set for August

Hondina said the PNGRFL is promoting gender equality and equal participation not only on the football field but also at the workplace.

He said having the Women’s semi-professional competition running will do good for the code and sponsors alike. He provided how the initial competition would look like when it commences in four months’ time.  

“Women’s Digicel ExxonMobil Cup will start this year in August, running for 7 weeks; and it’s going to be called Women’s Digicel ExxonMobil Cup.

National women’s rugby league showdown set

Southern, Northern, Highlands and New Guinea Islands Confederates are scheduled to play seven matches, each in round robin format with the top two teams qualifying for the play-off in the grand final on September 3, and as curtain raiser to the Digicel Exxon Mobil Cup grand final.

The National Women’ Championships is being run in conjunction with this year’s DigicelExxon Mobil Cup finals and will showcase the cream of female rugby league talents from across the  four regions.
