Samoan iron woman completes gold haul at 3 Games

The Samoan is the iron woman in the division,  winning gold in 2007, 2011 and today (2015).

 Opeloge won Samoa's gold in the snatch with a lift of 113kg, clean and jerk 132kg and overall total of 246kg.

Tracey Lambrechs of New Zealand settled for three silver medals, finishing second in the snatch, clean and jerk and overall total.

Luisa Peters from Cook Islands won bronze in the three categories.

Meanwhile, PNG weightlifter Loraine Harry missed out on any Pacific Games medals, but won gold in the Oceania Junior Championship 2015 division. 

Double gold medallist tells of nerves

Mea spoke straight after winning two gold medals for PNG a few minutes ago.

She was emotional, with tears in her eyes. She thanked everybody who had supported her during her 11 years in the sport.

"I want to thank my former coach Douglas Mea, OWF coaching guru Paul Coffa and my family," Mea added.

Also thanking all Papua New Guineans who bought tickets and came to support, she added.

The Hanuabada lady has defended her champion ranking in the 69kg division.
