TIPNG raises questions about democracy

Parliamentarians who undermine democratic processes not only erode public trust but also hinder the nation's progress and development. 

Chairman of TIPNG Peter Aitsi in a statement said the recent reported refusal of the Acting Speaker of Parliament to entertain a motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister, followed by the adjournment of Parliament until May 2024, raises serious questions about the adherence to democratic principles and further erodes public trust in the government institutions.

PSC Signs Anti-Corruption MoU

This initiative is part of TIPNG’s Promoting Anti-Corruption and Integrity Strategies (PAIS) Project funded by the European Union to strengthen public trust in national integrity institutions.

CLRC Steps Up To Fight Corruption

TIPNG is fostering partnerships with the civil society under its project called “Promoting Anti-Corruption and Integrity Strategies (PAIS). The European Union is funding the PAIS Program.

It has been 46 years since PNG gained its Independence, however state agencies have incurred ill practices of bribery, nepotism and abuse in office along the way.

Constitutional Law Reform Commission CEO, Dr. Mange Matui said it was important as a state agency to partner with TIPNG to address corruption.

OGP opens dialogue on Governance Priorities

The dialogue began when the OGP was launched on Thursday 9 September, 2021.

The two-day conference was co-hosted by the Department of National Planning and Monitoring and Transparency International PNG (as the PNG OGP co-chairs) in Port Moresby and in partnership with the European Union (EU).
