St John to head National Ambulance Service

This decision is consistent with the Marape-Steven Government’s intention to improve Papua New Guineans’ access to healthcare by investing in properly coordinated ambulance service.

The NAS’ vision is that by 2030, any person who needs help will be able to call 111 and get help from an ambulance anywhere in Papua New Guinea.

The NAS aims to establish a St John Ambulance station in every province and connect all district health centre ambulances to the broader St John network.

‘Green Angels’ in New Zealand

Despite the cold climatic conditions, the warmth of hospitality by Zealanders is all the reassurance they need to make New Zealand their home for the duration of their stay.

Philemon Jethro, Ganzi Katio, David Kivovia and Jasmine Kum are attending a four-month pre-hospital training in Palmerston North, New Zealand.

The training will be facilitated by St John New Zealand.

The four will undergo a First Responder Course and three will remain on to complete a Diploma in Ambulance Practice (Paramedicine).
