Simbu Governor Michael Dua

Suspended PA penalised

Governor Dua said the 14-day ultimatum starts on Friday, 22th of October, 2021.

Dua said the disciplinary charges stem from an investigation sanctioned by the National

Executive Council (NEC) on the suspended provincial administrator in June this year.

The governor said NEC directed the Department of Personal Management to work with the Provincial Administration to carry out the investigation. The investigation is complete and ready to be served to Mr Temai.

Simbu Governor calls for respect

In a media conference yesterday afternoon in Port Moresby, the Governor urged his supporters to let security personnel retrieve the container containing ballot boxes, and move them to Lae for the recount.

However, he warned that anyone caught trying to hijack the process will be dealt with accordingly.

“We have experienced numerous times that security personnel always contributed to such illegal activities.

“We cannot allow this to continue.”

Meantime, he remains confident he will retain his seat as Governor for Simbu.
