New Kombiu LLG office nears completion

The LLG Office was infested with termites causing weakening to the walls and floors, putting the officers and general public at risk. The project is a full refurbishment which includes building, electrical works, and pest control at a cost of K200 000, funded under the DSIP Former Years; LLG Support Grants.

Rabaul launches digital ward record book

This accomplishment marks the district's pioneering effort within the province to integrate online data collection and storage methods.

The digital ward record book, officially launched by Rabaul MP, Dr Allan Marat signifies the onset of efforts towards formulating the district's five-year development plan for the period 2023-2027.

By utilizing the Field Task Application via the Simple Mail Access Protocol (SMAP) server, the traditional hefty manual ward record book has transformed into a streamlined, real-time data repository.

Rabaul LLGs get K25,000 for development

The Rabaul District Administration is prioritizing four LLGs and their wards by providing financial support to facilitate the implementation of their projects and initiatives.

This funding is part of a K1.4 million allocation from the 2023 District Budget, which was approved by the District Development Authority Board earlier this year.

Rabaul road upgrade contract signed

Kokopo Plant Hire and the Rabaul District Administration signed a contract for the completion of the Matupit Road upgrade project.

Under the contract, the company will be upgrading the Matupit part one and other associated works from Namanula-Matupit junction to Matupit Ward 2.

Managing director, Patrick Midelit thanked the district administration for giving an opportunity to the company to work on this vital project that is a much-needed service for the people in the concerned communities.

Proposed police post for Gelagela

This is in a bid to seek solutions to address the escalating law and order problems in the area, over the past years which has disturbed classes, PMV services and caused general fear amongst the population.

In a site meeting recently, District Administrator Benedict Mode together with the district’s technical team met with the East New Britain Provincial Police Commander, Januarus Vosivai to discuss the way forward to boost police presence in the resettlement area.

The team visited the site, which is situated at the back of Kombiu LLG office.

ENB Candidates Participate In Open Forum

It was also an opportunity to educate the people about the limited preferential voting system.
The forums were organised by the ENB election steering committee, which is driving voter education in the province.
It is assisting the provincial electoral office under the leadership of provincial administrator, Wilson Matava.
