Provincial Administrator Solomon Tato

Court refuses Innamoi's application for reinstatement

Innamoi moved an application before the Supreme Court seeking orders to have Provincial Administrator Solomon Tato step aside and have the court reinstate him to the post.

The application comes after Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia, sitting as a Single Supreme Court judge, issued orders reinstating Tato as the Provincial Administrator on Feb 15 this year.

Innamoi's application was moved on grounds Tato is facing trial at the Goroka National Court on an ex-officio indictment. He is expected to stand trial for misusing funds.

Soso’s penalty to be known today

The Supreme Court is expected to make its penalty known today after Govenor Soso was found guilty of contempt on June 28.

She appeared with her lawyer on Monday this week and asked the court to give her a penalty fine of between K10,000-K15,000 for her actions.

She apologised to the court and said her actions were unintentional as she was unaware of the Supreme Court order of Feb 15, which reinstated Provincial Administrator Solomon Tato, before signing a letter for him to step down from the PA post the next day.
