Coach Douglas Guise confirmed this week that instead, the team is preparing for Sydney and Hamilton sevens.
The PNG women’s 7s team are ranked 4th following their gutsy performance at the Oceania 7s tournament in Fiji recently, while the men’s team is ranked 5th after Samoa.
Despite both teams finishing off well at the Oceania 7s event, they won’t be making an appearance at the Vanuatu Pacific Mini Games due to funding constrains, but more so they plan to prioritise and focus on the Sydney and Hamilton sevens next year.
