Papua New Guinea Council of Churches (PNGCC)

Churches On COVID-19 Awareness

About 30 representatives from different churches in Port Moresby, Central, Milne Bay, Oro, Western and Gulf provinces participated in the first day of the discussions.
The purpose of this dialogue is raising awareness on COVID-19 vaccines, to ensure that church leaders are sensitized on information regarding the vaccine.
Making sure Church leaders are resourced with updated information and they obtain correct and evidence-based information, help reduce the severity and mortality of COVID-19 and reduce pressure on the PNG health care system.

New Chaplaincy Directorate proposed for RPNGC

Bomana Police College Chaplain, Chief Inspector Reverend Reuben Semi, made this comment during a meeting with the members of the PNGCC in a bid to address issues affecting the Chaplaincy Ministry of the RPNGC.

Reverend Semi said the RPNGC Chaplaincy Ministry is part of the Welfare Office under the Human Resource Division. The Head of Churches Committee (HCC) and Chaplain meetings have been dormant for seven years. Proper process and procedures to select new police chaplains for the Police Commissioner’s appointment were not followed.
