Moeen Ali

Leave Moeen alone, says England keeper Bairstow

Ali is under pressure to keep his spot in England's side ahead of rookie Mason Crane, after taking just three wickets at 135 for the series and failing to spin England to victory in Melbourne.

A notable all-rounder, Ali has managed to average just 19.42 batting in the top seven for England after a side strain struck him down in warm-up matches and he later battled a cut finger.

Finn, Ali provide England with first Ashes injury worries

Finn jarred his left knee while batting in the nets on Thursday at training.

He crouched to the ground in pain after suffering the jar, and limped off gingerly to the change rooms.

Ali has a sore left side that has bothered him in recent days.

The duo will undergo scans on Friday in Perth, with their spots in doubt for this weekend's two-day tour match against a WA XI outfit at the WACA Ground.
