Lae city mission

Real test at hand

Thirty-three young men graduated on Thursday, December 15th, from the faith-based, not-for-profit organisation.

When applauding the young men on their achievement, assistant general manager, Jesse Poriz, told them: “After today, this is going to be really tough for you guys because the devil is going to try to get you back.

“The devil was controlling you before you came here.

“You’ve been here for a year-and-a-half; we’ve been trying to instill God’s values in you and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in you.

Lae City Mission graduation

This marks the third graduation ceremony in 2022 for the faith-based, not-for-profit organisation, which takes in marginalised and at risk boys and youth, and trains them to be better citizens.

City Mission PNG has been “Spreading the love of God and meeting human needs” for over 25 years.

The Mission began as a ministry to street boys and while it has continued to grow and adapt to the challenging social and spiritual needs of PNG, it still maintains the basis of its foundation.
