Ereman ToBaining Declared

ToBaining scored over the expected majority with the winning votes of 12, 052.

He served as the Member for Kokopo from 2012 to 2017.

Tobaining lost in the 2017 National General Election to Emil Tammur.

In this year’s National General Elections, coming in second place was PANGU Pati candidate Emil Tammur with 6,729 votes.

The winner was declared after the 20th elimination.

ToBaining’s win now adds to a total of six MP’s declared under the PNC Party banner.

Final elimination for Kokopo Open

At 1:30pm, the latest tally put People’s National Congress Party candidate Ereman ToBaining Jnr in the lead with 11,109 votes. PANGU Pati Emil Tamur had 6,038 votes.

The absolute majority is at 12, 539.

Kokopo Open seat is expecting a new Member of Parliament by this afternoon.

Meanwhile, candidate Komet Malari has bowed out of the race in the 19th exclusion. His 5,482 votes will be shared between Ereman Tobaining Jnr and incumbent MP Emil Tamur.

Tobaining Jr. leads Kokopo Open counting

The latest results follow counting of ballots from Ialakua, Raluana, Vunagi and Talakua.

Progressive results for the first five include;
