Miviri appointed to judiciary

Miviri’s appointment was announced on Jan 20,2017 by  Chairman of the Judicial and Legal Service Commission Ano Pala.

His term as an acting judge will be for a period of 12 months.

Miviri is from Moveave village, Malalaua District, Gulf Province. He has over 30 years practice in criminal law and administrative law. He graduated from the University of Papua New Guinea’s School of Law in 1985 and was admitted to the bar in 1986.

Two more judges appointed

 Chairman of the Judicial and Legal Service Commission and Attorney General Ano Pala announced the appointments of the new judges on Oct 31.

Their appointment will now bring the total number of judges, both acting and permanent judges serving in the high court to 41, strengthening the judiciary’s capacity to deal with the growing number of cases.

Deputy Registrar of the National Court Samuel Ikosi was also re-appointed for another term of three years.
