Two months later, Laufa case still not solved

In an interview with Director for Traffic, Joe Joseph stressed the investigators cannot preempt the case.

“Investigators cannot anticipate or predict the actual happening of the incident that had taken place and take action without building a strong case to present before the courts; let alone take any action in order to hinder the investigations that is currently running.”

He said we cannot just have the suspect arrested and it goes up to court only for it to be thrown out for lacking sufficient evidence.

Police said in a statement that someone had called from inside a Washington Navy Yard building, located less than 2 miles from the Capitol, to report possible sounds of gun shots around 7:30 a.m.

However, investigators found no sign of a shooting, and no one was hurt. No arrests have been made and no weapons were found, officials said.

The father and three roommates of the attacker were detained and being questioned in the capital, Tunis, Interior Ministry spokesman Mohamed Ali Aroui told The Associated Press. The attacker has been identified as Seifeddine Rezgui, a 24-year-old graduate of Tunisia's Kairouan University where he had been living with the other students.

"We are sure that others helped, but did not participate," Aroui said. "They participated indirectly."
