FODE to announce top performers

The aim is to encourage and motivate students to work hard and perform to the best of their ability while also making a name for their province.

FODE principal Anthony Rayyappan said having to implement this first of its kind initiative will enable students to be competitive.

He was speaking during the 2023 FODE National Marking Conference in Port Moresby recently.

Rayappan said the registrar staff would be working in the night to enter the data and would see the results straight after the marking of each national exam, starting this year.

FODE students introduced to online learning

LMS is a pilot project initiated by Reelea, a digital company in partnership with FODE to boost students learning using the online platform.

Principal Anthony Rayappan said it was a good start for the students.

“We must be fortunate that we have a digitalized system for learning where students can use to advance their studies,” he said.

FODE Central student Laya Kara said LMS helped her discover many things like problem solving, science equation, and basic grade 10 science units.

FODE centre for Gulf

Sir Chris made the presentation at the main FODE centre in Port Moresby yesterday.

He said that the plan to have FODE in the province is to increase literacy levels, and the overall standard of education and infrastructure.

“I would like very much that FODE becomes an integral part of the learning curriculum in the province. However, accessibility is a challenge for many,” Sir Chris said.

FODE Principal Anthony Rayappan agreed that accessibility to education especially in the remote areas of Gulf is challenging.

Transforming education through FODE

During the inauguration of a FODE centre at Mt Diamond Adventist Secondary School in Central Province on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, Prime Minister James Marape called upon Education Minister, Jimmy Uguro and Secretary Dr. Uke Kombra to replicate this transformative initiative across the country.

Prime Minister Marape underscored the importance of incorporating Christian values and ethics into the curriculum, emphasizing the need to guide young individuals through a comprehensive 13-year education journey, spanning from elementary to Grade 12.

FODE Principal, Anthony Rayappan said the students will sit for one week-mid examination this week.

He said all papers will be sent to the registry after each subject is completed.
