K20,000 for tourism training

Morobe Governor, Luther Akisawa Wenge this week presented K20,000 cash to participants of a Tour Guide Training Program at Kamkumung.

The funding was presented at International Healing Ministry and will benefit more than 100 participants in preparation for the 2023 P&O Cruise Ship visit to Morobe.

Governor Wenge said the rich cultural activities and ecosystems of Morobe Province must be supported and embraced accordingly.

Indian High Com Announces Financial Support

India’s High Commissioner to PNG, His Excellency Inbasekar Sundaramurthi made the announcement yesterday, 17 August to DFAT.

H.E Sundaramurthi emphasized that their administration focuses on capacity building especially within the department.

The Commissioner was Deputy Chief of Protocol 11 years before, thus understands the work of the department.

He encouraged DFAT’s Acting Chief Protocol, James Noglai, Acting Deputy Secretary of Policy Magdalene Moi-he to draft a proposal for the K400,000 funding support.

Kickboxing Needs Support

He said in the past the Federation had to host national events to help generate funds to help support its programs.

Nandex said financial constraints has been one a major challenge, that it has not properly delivered its development programs and national events in the country.

According to Nandex, there are currently 21 provinces actively involved in the code, with around eight thousand members nationwide.

In Simbu alone, there are about two thousand fighters or members from participating schools.
