Emstret Space fosters sustainable entrepreneurship

The Accelerator Pitch event provided an exclusive platform for burgeoning entrepreneurs to unveil their inventive business concepts designed to contribute to sustainability and environmental well-being.

The event bore witness to a remarkable exhibition of the ingenuity and determination of PNG's emerging talents, as they vied for an opportunity to shine on a regional stage.

NGET sparks innovative discussions at DWU

Lead Professor Sung-Hyun Mo and his team of professors and students from Handong Global University of South Korea, in partnership with DWU Faculty of Business and Informatics (FBI), had innovative conversations, insights and provided an intriguing learning experience with DWU participants.

The Lead Professor said it was encouraging to see a passionate group of staff and students engage in discussions and presentations throughout the week.

The power of SME

Mamak, a participant in the recent UNDP supported Entrepreneurship and Innovation Course described it as a solution to the rising number of unemployed youth and social problems on Bougainville and Papua New Guinea.

The training is aimed at fostering employment and entrepreneurial skills, as well as having access to business development and services from the ‘Bougainville Innovation Hubs’.

Mamak said the training teaches one to value themselves, understanding their own strengths, weakness and potential to grow.

Entrepreneurs invited to EWC

The programme will enable entrepreneurs to connect to a global community of entrepreneurs and for a chance to pitch for a share of US$1 million (over K3 million) in prizes plus additional investment opportunities and in-kind support. 

The Kumul Foundation Inc is the official lead partner and organizer in Papua New Guinea for Entrepreneurship World Cup Papua New Guinea which will feed start-ups into the global competition, through a partnership recently forged by Chairman Anthony Smaré at the Global Entrepreneurship Conference in Saudi Arabia in March this year.

Complete Entrepreneurial Course

The Kokopo Entrepreneurial Mentorship Program was held over five weekends at Melanesia Training Institute and concluded its series last weekend with the participants receiving their certificates of participation.

Program facilitator Lamang Business Consultants (LBC) said the entrepreneurial mentorship program aims to empower Papua New Guineans to rise above the mediocrity of life to becoming active participants in economic development, through entrepreneurship and wealth creating opportunities
