Digicel Exxon Mobil Cup

Dabaris primed for Vipers

Dabaris did a good job on the East New Britain Agmark Gurias last week holding them to a 12 all draw at fulltime. They’ll be keen to step up another gear this week against the star studded Vipers lineup.

Other Round 3 matches will be played in Minj (Saturday), and Goroka and Wabag (Sunday).

Dabaris spine of Nicky Hasu (6), Lote Kuman(7), and Mathew Wauwe(9) looked lethal against Gurias last week and surely they will use that momentum to cause problems for the Vipers through the middle.

Vipers off to a good start

In Round One, Vipers had to dig deep to overcome the 2023 grand final runner ups, Bintangor Goroka Lahanis 22-16. In their Round 2 match last week, the Vipers surged home to beat returning Asila Waghi Tumbe 20-12.

Under the former Vipers player turned coach Charlie Wabo, the 2024 season couldn’t have a better start than stringing together back-to-back wins, elevating them to the top of the competition table on 4 pts.

DEM CUP 1st eliminations

The first round of the eliminations this Sunday will see defending premiers Kroton Hela Wigmen face off with Bintangor Goroka Lahanis in the first of the double header at 12.30pm. ENB Agmark Gurias meet traditional rivals, PRK Mendi Muruks in the main event at 3pm.

A bumper crowd is expected for this Sunday’s blockbuster.

Pride to host premiers at Pora

EMK Sepik Pride again honored to host defending champions Kroton Hela Wigmen at home, the Pora Oval in Wewak at 2pm tomorrow afternoon with a good crowd expected.

From their last three home games, Pora Oval hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for the new franchise, recording losses to Isou and Vipers and a draw against Lahanis. They currently occupy 5th place in pool B with 3 points and 4 points below a 3rd placed Wigmen 3rd with 7pts.
