CPL opens pharmacy in Kundiawa

The new branch was opened under a Public Private Partnership agreement with the Sir Joseph Nombri Memorial Hospital, and now provides quality and affordable healthcare and wellbeing retail services to the province.

City Pharmacy Kundiawa opened officially after 8 months of preparation on 30th January, 2023 by CPL Founder, Sir Mahesh Patel, Simbu Provincial Health Authority CEO Dr. Francis Wandi and member for Kundiawa-Gembogl, Muguwa Dilu.

CPL Supports Hula fitness program

This fitness event is an annual program for the community that is organized by Kila and Marie Kilaverave, with Jack Karo Jnr from Functional 365. It was a sponsored event with a successful turnout.

CPL, through the CPL Foundation and City Pharmacy, provided cartons of water and medical supplies to the Hula Health Clinic.

As part of its Community Outreach Program, CPL group also provided free blood pressure checks, blood oxygen level checks and glucose health checkups for adults. Children were given deworming tablets.

Copus-Campbell is Australia’s Ambassador for Gender Equality

This role serves to deepen Australia’s international engagement on gender equality with her expertise in community development, gender equality and health, and she will advocate the importance of women’s human rights, ending GBV, women’s economic empowerment, and the leadership of women and girls.

CPL boost donations to PNGCF

Ajay Patel, Manager of the CPL Foundation said, “Promoting preventative health measures is paramount to a healthy PNG population. We also run many nationwide health outreach awareness to communities as part of our health and wellness service of the Group.”

He said CPL Foundation remains committed to its vision statement for a healthier and better PNG, and to one of its core values of being responsible to the people, community, and the environment.

“We hope this donation will make our families and communities aware and act upon Cancer,” Mr Patel added. 

CPL awards paralympian

CPL Group presented a cheque prize of K3, 000 in its sponsorship category of "Best Sportsperson with a Disability".

CPL’s Group Strategic Marketing GM Kevin Alo said the category represents CPL’s core values on delivering on commitments for inclusion and integral human development in PNG.

Morea is a 25-year old athlete from Vabukori Village in NCD. He holds the Oceania record for the seated Javelin in the F34 class category. He says sports gives him the confidence to perform his best and is grateful for CPL’s support.

Youngsters Trained On Internet Safety

CPL Group CEO Navin Raju said, "CPL Group is keen to support our younger generation to better understand internet/cyber safety to be able to protect themselves when surfing the internet."

CEOs share experiences with SMEs

The SME owners were mostly members of Emstret, led by Vani Nades, COO of Emstret Holdings Limited.  

Nades explained that Emstret E-Space was something that is really needed in Papua New Guinea.

She said the potential they have within SMEs and the pathways they want to collaborate together to enhance doing business and creating ideas and get moving.

CPL Signs Up For Cancer Awareness

The signing will see PNG’s leading and largest retailer, its stores, shoppers, charitable foundation and staff members partake in the health foundation’s flagship programs.

PNGCF Executive Manager, Priscilla Napoleon said breast cancer, cervical cancer, oral cancer in men remain one of the leading cause of death and CPL as a group believes it can partner with PNG Cancer Foundation in creating more awareness and education in terms of cancer across the country.

Founder and Chairman of CPL Group, Mahesh Patel said that it has been CPL and Stop N Shop’s greatest pleasure in launching fresh produce from local farmers and having launched the Gembogl onions last year it is only fitting to continue this wonderful collaboration by launching Simbu Santana Potatoes.
