His call follows the interception of fake Waswas soap by Lae police on Thursday, March 16th.
“It is important for the employees and their families of our businesses and the wider community,” Byrne said.
“Any illegal or counterfeit product must be stopped and the importer and any person involved in the movement of such items must be heavily penalised.
“This protects not only our businesses but our communities and ensures fair market practices and pricing.
