McDonald’s, Starbucks, Coca-Cola and Pepsi suspend Russian operations

The pull-out of iconic western brands from Russia is gathering momentum, with Starbucks, Coca-Cola and Pepsi joining McDonald’s in pausing operations in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Coca-Cola supports Musik Awards

Its signature platform launched recently in the country is the Coke studio; bringing together artists from different genres, eras and regions.

Now getting on board as the major sponsor for the PNG Musik Awards, Coca-Cola is bringing a number of these artists to perform at PNG’s biggest music event.

The Musik Awards is another opportunity for these artists, some of whom are from underground genres, not widely known by the PNG audience.

Planet Native, a hip-hop group, is one of such and has been selected to perform at the event as the night opener.

Football's most prestigious prize in PNG

The gold symbol, known as football's most coveted prize, arrived in the official Coca-Cola Global aircraft at the Jackson's International Airport.

A very proud Coca-Cola PNG general manager, Joyonto Chaudhury, spoke with excitement before welcoming PNG football officials and the media onto the aircraft to see the FIFA trophy.

The third 'Coca-Cola taste the feeling' Promotion Draw at 6:30pm on Saturday evening saw another 14 lucky winners’ names dawn.

The final draw will be on September 30, which will be telecasted live on TVWAN.

Court: Coca-Cola products could be poisonous

The court held that high levels of benzoic acid and sunset additives in the popular soft drinks could pose a health risk to consumers when mixed with ascorbic acid, commonly known as vitamin C, according to local media.

Blatter won't stand down despite call from sponsors

The major sponsors each issued statements saying Blatter should quit after Swiss criminal proceedings were opened against him last week.

Coca-Cola took the first step, saying: "Every day that passes FIFA's image and reputation continues to tarnish."

McDonald's said Blatter going would be "in the best interest of the game".

The 79-year-old is accused by Swiss prosecutors of signing a contract that was "unfavourable to Fifa" and making a "disloyal payment" to UEFA president Michel Platini but denies any wrongdoing.
