Malaysian woman in court for drug cases

Anita Ting Mee Siong was arrested on the 2nd of August 2017, this comes after similar charges were laid against her in December last year, when police raided her apartment at Ela Beach and found a gram of marijuana.

While she was out on bail and attending her first case in Court, six mile police upon investigating a drug ring, apprehended her again at Koki Shop and Stop.

According to Court Files, it is alleged that Anita is doing drugs and selling drugs to nationals and expatriates in the country.

Bring client to court, lawyer told

Magistrate Alex Kalandi told the lawyer representing Anita Ting Mee Siong to bring her to court when the matter next returns for mention on Feb 6.

The 34-year-old from Sibu, Sarawak city, Malaysia has not appeared in court since her arrest on Dec 12 and 23 respectively. Her case has been listed for mention four times since her arrest.

Siong’s lawyer was present in court for the first time today but without the defendant. She is expected to be charged by police this week with an additional charge.

Still no show in court for Malaysian woman

Anita Ting Mee Siong was supposed to appear in court with her lawyer before magistrate Alex Kalandi on Monday however she failed to turn up.

The case against the 34-year-old from Sibu, Sarawak city, Malaysia was adjourned for the third time to next week. She failed to turn up in court twice last week and again this week.

Siong was charged on Dec 12, 2016, on allegations that between July 18, 2015 and Dec 10, 2016, she remained in the country without a valid visa.

She was charged under section 16 (1)(a) of the Migration act and released on police bail of K10,000.
