PNG Lewas suffer second defeat at hands of Pakistan

The City Pharmacy PNG Lewas suffered their second defeat at the International Cricket Council Women's World Cup Qualifier losing by 236 runs to Pakistan today at the NCC Ground, Sri Lanka.

Pakistan batted first and posted a total of 276 thanks largely to openers Ayesha Zafar (115) and Javeria Khan (100).

Zafar was in top form smashing 21 boundaries before retiring hurt.

Pakistan finished at 5/276 after batting out the full 50 overs.

Pauke Siaka was the Lewas best bowler taking 2/34.

With the ball in hand, Pakistan ripped through the Lewas' batting attack bowling the PNG girls all out for 40 runs inside 24 overs.

Konio Oala top scored for the Lewas with 14 runs to her name.

It was Nashra Sandhu who did the damage for Pakistan taking 5/11 to set up the easiest of wins.
