Governor General Sir Bob Dadae is currently in Madang for presentation and investiture of Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee awards.
The Governor General arrived in Madang yesterday with his entourage.
People have gathered at the Laiwaden oval to celebrate with Sir Bob and other leaders including Governor Peter Yama and others.
Sir Bob will also be presenting certificates to the second chance youths from the CJI in Philippines followed by the official investiture program.
More than 300 people will be awarded by the Queen for their services to the people and the country.
