Hundreds turn up for Qatar registrations

Hundreds of young Port Moresby residents have turned up at the Grand Papua Hotel since early this morning for the cabin crew recruitment of five-star airline – Qatar Airways.

Even though the recruiting process was said to begun at 9am, young men and women, raring for a life-changing opportunity, showed up as early as 6am.

Loop PNG asked Vinzealhar Nen why she wanted to apply:

“It’s Qatar, a five-star company...I mean who wouldn’t want to.

“I checked the website and it read Dinner in Paris, Lunch in New York, Breakfast in Montreal, it’s like a dream but it’s actually real, and it’s free, you don’t have to pay to go these places. I wouldn’t mind that life.”

Vinzealer, turning 21 next month, and friend Skolah Kuelinad, were among the first batch to be interviewed.

“It was nerve-wracking but was okay and I’m just hoping to be called back,” Vinzealer said.

Those interviewed earlier were advised that an email should be sent to them by today, and those short-listed will be called in tomorrow.

Qatar Airways is the state-owned flag carrier of the State of Qatar, with a dynamic and culturally diverse workforce, one of the finest and fastest growing airlines in the world.
