Naked Fish restaurant opens at harbourside

Competition in providing a fine dining experience and a variety of international cuisine’s has increased significantly in Port Moresby.

And the latest addition to join a string of new restaurants and bars in the capital is the Naked Fish.

Located at ground floor of the Habourside Building overlooking the bay out to Fairfax, the Naked Fish was opened on Thursday  August 4, by Moresby South MP and Minister for Sport & National Events, Justin Tkatchenko, NCD Governor Powes Parkop, and partners of the Naked Fish.

Though a low key ceremony the ambience was that of a celebration with friends and VIP’s, including the PNG SP Hunters team and Kumuls Coach Michael Marum, attending the event.

Grand Chief Sir Michal Somare and Lady Veronica were also present to witness the opening, as their son and former Member for Angoram, Arthur Somare, is a partner of the restaurant.

Before cutting the ribbon signifying the opening, Minister Tkatchenko praised the partners for investing in the restaurant and bar as the majority of them were nationals.

He said it accompanied the redevelopments taking place in the Port Moresby CBD.

“This investment that is done by Papua New Guineans clearly shows what can be achieved at the highest level,” said Minister Tkatchenko.

The Naked Fish restaurant is a partnership between Graham Osborne, Arthur Somare, Leon Buskins, and Mathias Lasia.

Speaking on behalf of the partners, Graham Osborne thanked everyone that was involved in making the Naked Fish dream a reality.

He said it was time the Port Moresby CBD had some nice restaurants, given the major redevelopments in restaurants in the capital city, and summed it well to the competition.

“It’s (The Naked Fish) gonna be the place to be!”

The Naked Fish joins a host of other restaurants located  at the Habourside Buildings owned by Pacific Palms Property.
