Baki thanks Kessa villagers

Commissioner of Police Gari Baki was overwhelmed with the reception of Kessa villagers at Buka yesterday.

After a busy scheduled during the Commissioner's Conference in Buka at Hutzena Secondary School, the participants were taken for a ride along the Buka ring road to Kessa, which is located at the edge of the island.

At the village, after the food and music, Baki said as part of capacity building in the Bougainville Police Service, the people must understand and respect the work of their police service.

"You must have confidence in your police force. It is an effort that we must collectively develop to strengthen so they can serve our people better," he said.

He said there are currently young people from this region undergoing police training.

He said it was great to interact with people by going to their villages.

Chief Francis Tekia was thankful for the high police presence in their village.

He said it is important for them to have all the top police chiefs from the country to be in their village and they were overwhelmed by that.
