India Association aids charity organisations

Four charities in Papua New Guinea have received much needed donations from the India Association of PNG (IAPNG) this week in Port Moresby.

The charity organisations are PNG Children's Foundation (PNGCF), Office of Street Ministry, Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate and the Cancer Foundation PNG (CFPNG).

The PNGCF received K10, 000 which will go towards assisting needy children around PNG. The goal of the Foundation is to sustain healthy and happy PNG children.

PNGCF President Yiannis Nicolaou was thankful for the kind donation and confirmed that the funds will help with a new classroom they’re building at Six Mile settlement.

Nicolaou said anymore donations for that will be welcomed.

The CFPNG received K5, 000 which will go towards supporting the work of the Foundation in 2017.

CFPNG was formed for the purpose of improving coordination of cancer education and awareness through-out PNG.

CFPNG marketing coordinator Rebekah Houji said the donation is timely as they strive to reduce the threat and impact of cancer in PNG through education and awareness.

Houji said the IAPNG has been a longtime supporter of the work of the Foundation and they’re always thankful for its continuous donations over the years.

The Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate and Office of Street Ministry of the Port Moresby Catholic Archdiocese also received K5, 000 each.
