Satellite telecast at Leaders’ summit

Satellite live telecast of leaders speeches at the APEC leaders meet in November will be a challenge the host team will try to pull off.

Gold Sponsors of the APEC CEO Summit were told this last night in Port Moresby by the ABAC Chairman Wayne Golding.

The eight gold sponsors of the APEC CEO Summit were recognized in their effort to support the APEC Business Advisory Committee host the summit in Port Moresby.

SP Brewery, Digicel PNG, Jian Man Chin, Johnson&Johnson, The National, BSP and Rogrand are gold sponsors of the summit.

APEC minister Justin Tkatchenko said the gold sponsorships means a lot from the business houses in ensuring the event goes well.

It was important as well for the sponsors in getting business opportunities behind it.

ABAC Chairman of CEO summit, Wayne Golding said hosting the event is a difficult task for a small economy.

An even bigger challenge is getting satellite live telecast of all the leaders’ speech during the meet.

“Also something’s going to happen that’s different this year, it’s a challenge, it’s a big, big gamble but it’s a gamble that’s worth taking.

“We are going to do satellite live telecast, of the full leaders speech and some of the speeches and events…That has never been done before,” Golding said.

“And I want to demonstrate to the world that PNG, is a little bit slow, little bit backward in technology but the most important thing, we can do it, if we try hard enough.

“And that’s what APEC here is all about, its to push the minister  and his colleagues to make better policies to invest in better infrastructure so that our economy can blossom,” He added.

SP Brewery’s CEO on behalf of the other gold sponsors said as sponsors, they are investing in having better business systems in the region.
