YouTube pours money into how-to videos

Some video-makers have been frustrated by changes to the platform that made it harder for them to earn money producing short and well-researched videos.

Critics say YouTube's algorithms favour long and sensationalist videos.

The company says its new fund will make the platform "better for educators and learners".

As part of the scheme, YouTube will launch a new Learning channel, which will showcase its own original programmes and those made by independent creators.

Look What You Made Me Do was played a total of 10,129,087 times on Spotify last Friday, the day of its release, more than any other song has achieved in a single day.

The video also broke YouTube's one-day streaming record.

YouTuber pleads not guilty to video game gambling offences

Craig Douglas and Dylan Rigby made their pleas at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The pair were charged on 16 September with promoting a lottery and advertising unlawful gambling.

The case has been adjourned until 6 February 2017, when the court will hold a hearing expected to last a week.

Mr Douglas is a prominent gamer and has a YouTube channel under the pseudonym Nepenthez which has more than 1.3 million subscribers.
