Candidates petitioned Election Manager over counting venues

And among other demands asked was for the counting to start on tomorrow and not delayed.

According to Provincial Election Manager Kila Ralai, the counting will be held at Yangoru Station in East Yangoru LLG and will not be moved.

The electorate completed its polling on Friday.     

Meanwhile, only one LLG ward in East Sepik Province is yet to complete polling for the 2017 National Election, which ended yesterday.

Maru’s drive for education in Yangoru taking shape

The district has four local level government wards, Numbo, Sausso, East Yangoru and West Yangoru.

Under the chairmanship of first term MP and Minister for Trade Commerce and Industry Yangoru Saussia District Development Authority had invested heavily in the primary school infrastructures in the 30 registered Schools.

Sausso LLG has recorded a total of 9 projects, Numbo 4, West Yangoru 5 projects and East Yangoru LLG 5 projects.

The projects involved double-story classrooms, library and teachers houses.

Wewak hospital gets K10m funding

Prime Minister Peter O'Neill announced this at Yangoru Station this afternoon.

O’Neill was invited to East Sepik by Yangoru Saussia MP and Trade Minister Richard Maru to launch the Sepik chicken, grain and cocoa projects.

O'Neill said funds have already been sent to the hospital account.

He also challenge the hospital board and management to use the money for its intended purpose because an early funding of K10 million was misappropriated and the case is before the courts.

New mobile police barracks for Yangoru

Construction will start earlier next year.  

Local MP and Minister for Trade, Commerce and Industry Richard Maru revealed today that the “K18.2 million for Mobile Barracks in Yangoru Station was approved by NEC last week.

“Details will be released once the Governor-General signs the contract will the constructor.”
