Xiaomi Launches Edgeless “Mi Mix”

It comes with a 5.7-inch 3D QLED display and impressive 77.2% screen-to-body ratio.

The same event became a witness of another smartphone launch that left the smartphone enthusiasts spellbound. Xiaomi launched its latest premium smartphone Mi Mix. This edgeless smartphone has the looks that can make the biggies like iPhone 7 and Pixel jealous.

First, earlier this year Richard Wilson, an analyst at Radio Free Mobile in a note titled "Xiaomi: Reality Check PT V" claimed the firm's valuation had gone from US$45bn (£34bn) to less than US$4bn in just two years.

Radio Free Mobile is in its own words "an independent research producer specialising in the digital and mobile ecosystem".


Xiaomi buys Microsoft smartphone patents

Experts say the patent deal paves the way for the Chinese firm to sell its handsets in Western markets.

Microsoft will benefit from the fact that some of its Android apps - including Office and Skype - will now be pre-installed on Xiaomi devices.

The announcement comes at a time when Xiaomi has been struggling to meet sales targets.

New iPhone launch likely September 9

The new phone is expected to feature enhancements including the force touch display, a better camera and a faster processor.

Apple may also unveil a new version of the iPad -- a 12.9-inch "Pro" model, according to a report by John Paczkowski of BuzzFeed.

A company spokesman declined to comment.
