Grade 12s to sit for first exam

At least 32,058 students from 220 Grade 12 schools, including the six National Schools of Excellence, private and permitted schools have nominated to sit for the exam.

Secretary for Education Dr. Uke Kombra is confident that students and teachers have prepared for it.

“I am now calling on the Provincial Division of Education, School Administrations and Parents to support our students to give their best,” he said.

Dr. Kombra called on the public to respect and support the students by ensuring in every way possible, that the students do the exam.

Gr.12 Written Expression Exam On August 15

As per a Circular Instruction from the Department of Education Secretary, Dr Uke Kombra, the Grade 12 Written Expression exam will go ahead.

The original date 1st August had been re-scheduled to 15th August due to the disturbances caused by the National General Elections polling and counting in various parts of the country including the National Capital District.

This year, 32,841 students from 188 secondary schools, including private and permitted schools and six national high schools in the country have nominated to sit for the examination.

“I would like to confirm that the Department through the Measurement Services Division has already sent out the examination materials to schools in all provinces in the country,” said the Secretary for Education, Dr Uke Kombra.

Gr 10 Written Expression exam underway

Records from the Measurement Services Division (MSD) of the Department of Education show that 350 high and secondary schools have nominated about 79,960 students for Grade 10 this year.

The Written Expression Examination was originally scheduled for the 4th of June by the MSD Calendar. Due to COVID-19, it was postponed by 2 weeks to the 18th of June to give students and schools enough time to catch up with the lost instructional hours under the 'new normal' directives. It was again rescheduled by another 2 weeks to 2nd of July to give sufficient time for all.
