Barras turn focus to WCLC fixtures

Both 50 over matches will be played at Amini Park in Port Moresby on October 21 and 23.

The ICC WCLC is an elite 50 over competition and pathway for participating teams to play in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018; and subsequently have a chance to qualify for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. 

The HEBOU PNG Barramundis are currently in fourth position, on 8 points while Namibia is sitting in seventh position on 2 points.

Barras fight back to beat Kenya by 21 runs

Chasing 249 for victory, Kenya's run got off to a bad start after opener Irfan Karim was dismissed for 4.

His partner Gurdeep Singh fired back, blasting 6 fours for his 27 before being dismissed by Norman Vanua.

Kenya's two new batsmen Rakep Patel (33) and Rushab Patel (95) turned the momentum Kenya's way to put them right back in the game.

Barras all-rounder, John Reva continued his good form, making the breakthrough, dismissing the dangerous Rushab.

At this stage, Kenya was at 5/214 after 45.4 overs.

Barras beat Nepal by two wickets

They beat Nepal by two wickets yesterday in a thriller at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Nepal batted first and were one wicket down after the first ball when opener Anil Mandal was dismissed for a duck by Norman Vanua.

Nepal continued to lose wickets cheaply and at one stage were 4-86 after 22 overs.

But Subash Khakurel (63) and Sharad Vesawkar (78) put up a fight and steadied the Nepal innings.

Nepal finished at 8/232 after 50 overs bowled.

Assad Vala was the best of the Barras bowlers, taking 3/32.
