Tohu Harris out of Warriors NRL clash

The 26-year-old Kiwi international, who was set to make his comeback after an injury to his left knee, has now injured his right knee in a training session.

He's returning home for immediate minor surgery.

It's yet to be determined when he is expected to be fit to play again.

Meanwhile Canterbury put a massive dent in Brisbane's top-four NRL hopes, shocking the finals-bound Broncos 36-22 in Sydney last night.

Blair, Luke and Harris return to boosts Warriors

Harris (knee) and Luke (calf) were listed in the initial line-up for last Sunday's encounter with Gold Coast but didn't recover sufficiently and were later ruled out.

Blair was serving a one-match suspension but, along with Luke and Harris, returns in a starting forward pack showing three changes from the combination used in the 36-12 loss to the Titans.

Luke slots in for Jazz Tevaga, Harris for Joseph Vuna and Blair for Simon Mannering.

Kearney calls Warriors soft

The Warriors wilted in a 36-12 loss on the Gold Coast on Sunday after establishing a 12-8 lead at halftime.

A win would would have put them three victories clear of ninth with five games remaining.

Instead, they leaked five unanswered tries and miss a chance to consolidate their first NRL finals campaign since 2011.

It was a shock turn of events given they had won their past seven at Cbus Super Stadium, 14 of their past 15 against the Titans and seven of nine away games this year.

Harris to return for Gold Coast clash

The 26-year-old comes back four weeks after picking up a knee injury in the final minute of the 16th-round clash against Cronulla on June 29.

Harris is set to return on schedule after having surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee.

Pulu is listed in jersey #21 on the extended eight-man bench.

He appeared in each of the Warriors' season-opening five wins before being forced off the field with a midfoot foot injury 23 minutes into the sixth-round contest with the Brisbane Broncos on April 14.

Warriors fall to table-topping Storm

The premiers haven't always been pretty on a winning run that stretches seven matches but they did enough again at Mt Smart Stadium on Sunday.

In a far cry from their 50-10 win over the Warriors on Anzac Day, Melbourne relied on defensive scrambling, slightly better control and some fortunate referee calls to join South Sydney and St George Illawarra on 13 wins.

A superior points differential puts them on top and on target to repeat their minor premiership win in 2017.

Warriors on wrong side of rout

Without their State of Origin stars Nathan Cleary, James Maloney and Tyrone Peachey and injured duo Josh Mansour and Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Penrith's premiership hopes were supercharged by rookie Jarome Luai in the six tries to one rout.

Playing just the second NRL game of his career, Luai scored two tries, set up a third and had a hand in two more in an eye-catching effort.

He also nailed six of eight goals to finish with a personal 20-point haul.

The victory ends a worrying two-game slide for the Panthers that had some questioning their title ambitions.

Warriors suffer double blow

Front rower Afoa suffered a suffered a dislocated elbow and Harris a knee injury in the team's loss to Cronulla last round.

Afoa is expected to be sidelined for six weeks while the recovery for second-rower Harris is four-to-six weeks, depending on how he comes through surgery.

There are several changes for the side this round with Simon Mannering moving from loose forward to the second row to replace Harris while Adam Blair makes a timely return from a one-match suspension to reclaim the No 13 jersey.

Johnson to return for Manly clash

The 27-year-old has been stalled on 149 games since an ankle injury picked up in the 70th minute of the club's 26-4 win over Wests Tigers last month.

After scoring his 61st career try in the victory, Johnson was then forced to miss the last three outings against the Sydney Roosters, Parramatta and South Sydney.

With his seventh appearance this year, the club's record points-scorer (825 points) will become the 12th member of the Vodafone Warriors' 150-game club having made his debut against the Roosters in 2011 and his 100th against the same opposition in 2015.

Warriors take game two v Cavs

If the Cavaliers hope to compete in these Finals, they need LeBron James to be at his absolute best, but he was not in game two.

James looked absolutely unstoppable in a 51-point performance in game one, as he was nearly flawless driving to the basket and dropping bombs from three-point range, but Sunday he passed up several open looks from deep early and only had two shots nine minutes into the game.

RTS back for Warriors

The skipper was a late scratching from last week's win over the Eels in Sydney as he stayed home with his fiancee Ashley Walker, who is due to give birth to their first child.

Halfback Shaun Johnson is still sidelined by an ankle injury, while Tuivasa-Sheck's return means Peta Hiku pushes out to the centres after filling in at fullback.

Gerard Beale drops to the bench.

Other than Tuivasa-Sheck coming back into the line-up there are no other changes in personnel among the 17 players used against the Eels although there are two positional swaps.
