Senate intelligence panel rejects Trump wiretap claim

BCThe statement from Republican Senator Richard Burr, Senate Intelligence Committee chairman, dismissed Donald Trump's claim his phones were tapped.

Mr Trump had accused his predecessor Barack Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower during the presidential race.

Mr Burr joins a cadre of lawmakers who have rejected the allegation.

Kanye West meets with Donald Trump at Trump Tower

Trump spoke to reporters with West by his side, calling the rapper a "good man" and telling journalists that they have been "friends for a long time."

West would not discuss the details of the meeting ignored questions about whether he plans on performing at Trump's inauguration. He also ignored a question about whether he wishes he had voted for Trump.

"I just want to take a picture right now," West said, smiling.

"You take care of yourself, I'll see you soon," Trump told West.

New York police arrest man trying to climb Trump Tower

Workers removed windows from the glass-faced, 58-storey skyscraper to prevent him from going higher.

Police officers eventually grabbed the man as he reached the 21st floor and pulled him inside the building.

The building is the headquarters of the US presidential campaign of Republican nominee Donald Trump. He also lives in the building but was not in New York.

Police described the climber as a 20-year-old man from Virginia who wanted to meet Mr Trump. Police said they did not believe the man intended to harm anyone.

The billionaire businessman announced his decision in a raucous news conference at Trump Tower, the gold-hued skyscraper in midtown Manhattan where he launched his surging and front-running campaign for president.

"I have signed the pledge," Trump said, adding that he intends to win the nomination himself and face whoever the Democrats nominate.
