Charity donations to end 2023

For the 8th year, the donation is to give back to members of the community who were unable to be a part of the Christmas festivities.

Truaki donated 1.3 tonnes of Trukai Rice to 13 Correctional Service establishments nationwide with Trukai Industries staff visiting the Buimo and Bomana female detainees. The female detainees were given care items consisting of towels, blankets, sanitary pads and soaps while plush toys were presented to their babies.

Trukai sponsors Vanagi race

Marketing Manager, Maryanne Tom, stated that Trukai is pleased sponsors once again the Trukai Vanagi (canoe) race as the naming rights sponsor and the major sponsor for the Trukai Vanagi Race. The race is a part of the Hiri Moale Festival from the 3rd - 5th of March, 2023.

Team PNG gets 344K boost to Birmingham

The funding boosts preparations for Team PNG to the 20th edition of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom later this month.

The funds presented were raised from the sales of the 2022 Trukai Fun Run T-Shirts.

Trukai Industries Chief Executive Officer Alan Preston made the presentation to PNGOC. Preston said that Trukai was happy with its continued partnership with PNGOC to support Team PNG in its endeavour to promote PNG’s sporting talents in international competitions.

Major Sponsor Of VPL 2022

Initially this includes both the May edition and the second edition planned for November. 

This sponsorship ensures that the Trukai VPL 2022 will build on the success of the first Village Premier League run in 2021, where the Wanderers Curries Team took away the PGK 10,000 first prize. 

Thanks to Trukai, the first prize this year has doubled to PGK 20,000.

Trukai Industries Ltd CEO, Alan Preston, in confirming the new partnership, noted: “We believe that this sponsorship will allow us to diversify outside of our traditional sporting sponsorships.

Life PNG Care Receives Donation

Recently they donated K5000 to Life PNG Care in raising funds to give 500 children the opportunity to receive an education in 2022.

Life PNG Care have been running fundraising drives to raise their target amount of K400,000 that will go towards their Strongim Pikinini Program and the donations given by Trukai will go to this fund.

The program comprises of three programs and they are the Underprivileged Student Sponsorship Program, Mobile Education Program and Home Schooling Program.

Trukai Supports Village

Kukipi village recently faced off with king tides that resulted in the destruction of their food gardens, water supplies and cash crops, evident of the catastrophe caused by impact of global warming.

Trukai’s Public Relations and Communications Manager, Andrea Tagamasau said the donation is part of their corporate social responsibility.

Trukai Supports PNGRFL With K60,000

The company officially signed on a K60,000 sponsorship supporting three tournaments that are set to run over the next two months.

The sponsorship will cover the Pacific Australia Sports National Women’s Championship, the National Affiliate Leagues Championships and the KPHL National Schools Rugby League Championships, which is currently underway in Port Moresby.

The Schools Rugby League Championships ends this Saturday 26th September, 2021.

Military Wives Sports Initiative

Trukai supplied 300 kilograms of Trukai medium grain rice in support of the tournament that will cater for over 360 Military wives from six different units that participated in this annual event.

The host unit, Force Support Battalion, thanked Trukai Industries Ltd for their support and efforts towards the military wives.

Commanding officer for the host unit, Lt Colonel Roderick Noyamefa said the main reason behind the games is to promote equal participation and to build confidence and unity among the women and in their home settings.

Trukai Backs PNGOC

The team received a cheque of two hundred and fifty thousand kina today. It was signed to the PNG Olympic Committee (PNGOC).

PNGOC President Sir John Dawanincura thanked Trukai Industries for its ongoing support of more than two decades.

“I’d like to acknowledge the support from Trukai Industries to Team PNG in this challenging times and I want to thank them for their continued partnership and commitment,” said Sir John.

Trukai Industries CEO Alan Preston said Trukai is happy to support Team PNG athletes traveling.

K500,000 for Team PNG

Trukai Industries Ltd proudly presented the cheque on Friday in Port Moresby.

93,492 t-shirts were sold from this year’s June 16th fun run – both from auctions and the t-shirt sales.

Trukai Industries says this year’s fun run was a huge success, compared to previous years’. Both the Lae and Port Moresby auctions recorded a total of 61,000 t-shirts.
