Cowboy’s Matt Scott to lead Trukai Fun Run

Currently sidelined with injury, Scott will add an extra sprinkle of stardust to an already impressive roster of sporting celebrities at the Trukai Fun Run.

Scott will lead as the 2017 Trukai Fun Run Ambassador on Sunday June 11 at the Sir John Guise Stadium.

He will be joined by another Cowboys favourite, retired Australian and Queensland centre/winger, Brent Tate.

The duo will also have alongside them SP Hunters players and Team PNG athletes.

Over K500,000 raised from Trukai auctions

The auction on Wednesday night at the Lae Royal Yacht Club saw 21,405 T-shirts sold, amounting to K214,050.

A further K3,500 was raised from the sale of a framed official North Queensland Cowboys NRL jersey.

The top five bidders for the night:

The Port Moresby auction at the Royal Papua Yacht Club beat the one in Lae, raising K312,000 from the sale of 31,200 T-shirts at the Royal Papua Yacht Club last night.

IBS supports Trukai Fun Run with scholarships

Part of this contribution is its partnership with the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (PNGOC) which includes supporting events such as the annual Trukai Fun Run.

And again for this year 2016, IBS is proud to support the elite sports men and women of PNG when they offer their scholarships as prizes for participants of the Trukai Fun Run that enter the draw.

34th Trukai Fun Run launched

There to officiate at the event included President of the PNG Olympic Committee, Sir John Dawanincura, Trukai's National Marketing Manager, Maybellyne Fernandes, PNG's super fish, Ryan Pini and Team PNG Chef de Mission to Rio, Emma Waiwai.

This year's event is expected to see over 50,000 participants hit the streets to take part in the nationwide event on June 26, 2016.

The PNG Cancer Foundation has also joined in as a partner for the Fun Run with Patron, Lynda Baboa-O'Neill present to launch the Fun Run shirts.
