Earlier this year, senior Family and Sexual Violence Unit (FSVU) police officers attended training on responding to complaints of family and sexual violence. The training increased awareness of challenges faced by survivors, the manipulation and control tactics used by offenders, and how police should respond.

RT Service Technicians, right across the nation are currently undergoing a Konica Minolta training workshop, which commenced last week, starting with Technicians from their Madang, Lae and Goroka branches.

Training Superintendent Arifeae Farapo said the 42 recruits from NCD, commenced training on 23^rd of May 2022 and the training is progressing well.  They will complete their training in a couple of weeks.

Two women are among the 42 recruits. The training is underway at the Gerehu Fire Service Training College.

AROB has launched the training that will equip its health workers with vital knowledge, skills and confidence on COVID-19 vaccination.

To be known as the NGCB PM's XIII team, the squad includes three debutants among experienced hands from this year’s Pacific test and the 2017 World Cup teams.

This is to help them understand the role of media and how it can be used as a platform for communicating their stories and discussing important national issues.

The two-day workshop was held in Kimbe by the Media Development Initiative (MDI), covering basic news writing, setting up and participating in news interviews, social media literacy and understanding the power of media to shape public debate.

Hosted by the Family Law and Special Projects division, legal officers from Oro, West Sepik, AROB, Milne Bay, Morobe and NCD branches of the PSO office attended this two-day training, which ended on Friday.

The program aimed to explain the reforms done in the family law sector in terms of new laws and their functions, what role the PSO office plays and to also identify referral partners and their roles.
