Buka’s tourism hub vision gets boosted

The Buka town authority’s vision has been boosted with three new rubbish trucks (compactors).

Speaking to Loop PNG, Buka Town Manager Edward Kenai said Buka town workers can now collect rubbish in style and keep Buka town clean.

“Our main aim to turn Buka town into a tourism hub still stands, we have now boosted our fleet and our operational capability will be up to standard,” Kenai said.

Speaking at the launching last Thursday, Kenai said the purchase of these trucks from China was made possible through thorough research.

Buka tourism plans on track: Manager

Tourism infrastructure: Already in place, town cleanliness, road sealing, buildings, etc.

Product development: Developing products that will invite and attract tourists.

Capacity development: For tourism stakeholders.

Solomon seas tourism zone: Bougainville and Solomon Islands.

Buka town manager, Edward Kenai, said component one is currently in progress while the other three are waiting for funds.
