Rapatona and Huawei PS draw 1-1

It was solid defence in the backline from both sides in a scorless second half that forced both sides to settle for 1 competition point each for the 1-1 scoreline.

Rapatona were first on the board late in the first half with a goal to Peterson Elijah in the 38th minute.

Huawei PS regathered and hit back just six minutes later to equalize after Iamo Makena powered a shot through to score.

The second half saw both sides fail to capitalize on chances to score which frustrated the two teams.

Madang FC fans back team in crunch match

Maintaining the second spot with 15 points with Lae Welgris United followed closely behind with 14 points Madang FC must win this game this weekend against rivals Lae Welgris to maintain their lead.

Madang FC Patron and Governor Jim Kas while hosting the teams get together after the weekend home game against Goroka Goshia FC, assured the boys he will be there with them in Lae to cheer them on and urgec them to stay focussed and win this game.

Two home grown talents join Rapatona FC

Recently, two youngsters, Cliff Paul and David Lee were flown out of Manus to join the team in training for possible inclusion in the team.

Both are from Rambutso Island, in the Rapatona LLG where the team got its name.

An executive member of the club, Chikui Posman said PKA Rapatona FC wants to provide a direct pathway for local talents in the Rapatona LLG to enter NSL and Port Moresby League where the club is also registered.

“It is also part of the club's social responsibility to develop young people to be better and useful citizens.

FC Pom to take fight to Hekari

In the Southern Conference, Hekari United FC will take on FC POM in the midday game at 12:30pm while Erema Gulf FC will go up against Gigira Laitepo Utd in the main game of the day at 3pm.

On Sunday, the only match will be between Huawei PS Utd FC and PKA Rapatona at 3pm.

All three games will be played at the Bisini Grounds.

For the Northern Conference games, the Sir Ignatius Kilage stadium in Lae will host two games.

TNSL heads into round 3

In the Southern Conference fixtures at the Bisini Grounds in Port Moresby, PKA Rapatona FC take on FC Port Moresby in the first game at 12:30pm.

Huawei PS Utd FC will clash with Gigira Laitepo Utd in the main game at 3pm.

On Sunday it will be the ultimate test for newcomers Erema Gulf FC when they lock horns with Hekari United FC at 3pm.

For the Northern Conference, Welgris Morobe Utd play Besta PNG United FC at 12:30pm while Admiralty FC go up against Lae City Dwellers at 3pm.

Both games will be played at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium in Lae.
