Suliasi Vunivalu

Storm Premiership Winner Linked With NRL Return

The Daily Telegraph reported Vunivalu is considering turning his back on rugby union one year into his two-year deal with the Queensland Reds.

The 26-year-old had a turbulent start to his rugby union career when he was suspended after a drink driving charge and he failed to cement his spot in the Reds side last season, while he wasn’t included in the Wallabies’ teams throughout their 2021 campaign.

Melbourne Storm's star winger Suliasi Vunivalu faces one game ban for leg pull

Vunivalu was on Monday charged with a grade-two offence for a leg pull on Canterbury fullback Nick Meaney early in Sunday's narrow win over the Bulldogs.

Meaney got up gingerly but the incident was not penalised by on-field officials, before Vunivalu was picked up by the match review committee.

The Fijian will miss just one match if he pleads guilty to the charge.

But if he contests the charge at the judiciary, he would risk sitting out the Storm's grand final rematch against the Sydney Roosters in round six.

Vunivalu signs off on stellar year

Suliasi Vunivalu has had a stellar year. The Fiji winger capped off his 23-try haul at NRL level with other nine during the World Cup and grabbed the Bati's only try against Australia on Friday night.
