SME Corporation partners to advance program

On Friday, April 12, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Lae between SME Corporation and Tok Stret Consulting Limited (TSCL).

The MoU will see the two parties co-operate to discuss opportunities for collaboration in the following areas:

Small Enterprises In Panel Discussion

In a panel discussion, small enterprises met to talk about their start-ups, challenges faced and their achievements.

Clark and Tali Piokole spoke about their start-up of the Pharmaceutical Retail Start-up, which is the first national pharmacy set up.

The breakfast covered the theme, Resilience and Rebuilding discussing the SME Development and Growth and raised critical issues around that area.

Milne Bay SME Association President, Rhona Conn spoke about her experience on her start-up and Deborah Yassa Yalu about PNG Solidarity.

SME workshop aims to create growth

The workshop, to be held next month, will focus on some of the recently released work programs for the SME sector undertaken by Department of Trade, Commerce and Industry, SME Corporation and other key stakeholders.

Presentations will be made by the World Bank group on international best practices and examples in SME development.

The workshop will provide invaluable information for developing appropriate government interventions and policies to foster the growth of SMEs in PNG.
