Sir Koitaga Mano

One of PNG’s first MPs dies at 86

The Late Sir Koitaga was a Member of Parliament in the House of Assembly in 1964. He was one of the first uneducated politicians elected to the House.

In 2008, he was awarded the Queen’s Medal for his contribution to the country.

He hailed from the Komolga Tribe in the Lower Kagual district in Tambul-Nebilyer. He is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
