NSL bids open for 2016-2017

Competition manager Simon Koima said the forms are available and clubs who fulfilled the registration requirements would be granted license.

"The application for the expression of interest is open today and closes on Sunday 21/08/2016."

"PNG Football Association will issue licenses to clubs who fulfill all the club licensing requirements."

He stressed that only clubs who are licenced are permitted to participate in the 2016-2017 NSL season.

Koima said club licensing was an integral part of building a stronger football programme.

Koima clarifies air on NSL finals playoffs

Koima clarified that the points for the four franchised clubs in the Conference League will not be carried over to the National Home and Away games.

“It is not that we are cutting their points but they are going to start fresh again and fight for new points,” Koima said.

Moreover, he said that there will not be any other finals but only the grand final match.

“The four teams will play, and only the two top teams will play the Grand Final match. There will be no third and fourth playoffs,” he explained.
