Marie Stopes debate at Gerehu secondary raises awareness

Marie Stopes PNG through its advocacy project “Rights at Every Level” held a school debate  on Wednesday, November  16, to encourage youths to advocate amongst their own peers on the importance and benefits of youths accessing family planning and reproductive health information and services. Grade 11 students from Gerehu Secondary School participated in the debate titled “Youths in PNG should have access to family planning and reproductive health care information and services”.

Six NCD schools participate in debate challenge

They are Badihagwa, Gerehu, Jubilee, Marianville, Port Moresby International School and newcomers Koiari Park High School.

Previously known as the IBS School Debate, the Emstret Tokaut Debate Challenge is scheduled from August 29 to September 1.  

The challenge also includes schools from other provinces and comprises three competition categories, Provincial, National and Melanesian.

The schools will battle it out for the three days and the overall winner, the provincial champions, will represent their regions in the National Championships.
